A critical aspect of harness design is managing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and ensuring signal integrity. Twisted pairs and shielded wires are often used to protect sensitive data lines from interference . Cable routing is also crucial to avoid chafing against sharp edges, exposure to high heat, and interference with moving parts, and the harness must be secured with appropriate clips, clamps, and protective sleeves . The design must also consider manufacturability and serviceability. The harness must be designed for efficient assembly on the production line and allow for easy access to connectors for service .
