This independent control can mimic the effect of a limited-slip differential and improve traction in various conditions. As OEMs like Renault explore in-wheel motors for performance vehicles, the ability to recover energy and reduce reliance on traditional friction brakes is a compelling advantage. The development of scalable motor systems from companies like YASA and Protean Electric, which prioritize both power output and efficient energy recuperation, will be crucial for expanding the market for in-wheel motors across electric vehicles, from high-performance cars to commercial and two-wheeler applications.
